The Story of Liikuntakeskus Olo<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Local Expertise Since 1985<\/strong><\/p>

Liikuntakeskus Olo<\/strong> is Oulu’s longest-established fitness center. We were known as Beauty Center until the end of 2021, founded by local resident Irma Mattila in 1985.<\/p>

Irma and her husband ran a gym called Kuntosali 38 on Koulukatu, which was one of the first in the area. In the 1980s, gyms were primarily frequented by bodybuilders, and the hobby was not yet familiar to the average exercise enthusiast. However, women showed enthusiasm for the sport whenever the gym organized separate women’s evenings. This sparked the idea of a gym exclusively for women. The concept was put into action, and the first fitness center designed solely for women was opened on Isokatu, which also included group exercise classes. In the same premises, Auli Lukkarila established the beauty salon Beauty Spot. Thus, Beauty Center was born in April 1985.<\/p>

The popularity of gym and group exercise activities grew significantly year by year, and in 2007 we moved to larger, brand new facilities on Aleksanterinkatu. Since then, our operations have been continuously developed, and we have kept up with industry trends. While many new chain gyms have entered the market, our concept has remained genuinely local and unique. Liikuntakeskus Olo<\/strong> still serves customers and employs instructors who have been with us for over 30 years, making us a highly regarded fitness and workplace.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Thanks to continuous development and growth, our company currently employs over 30 professionals in the fitness industry. Our services have expanded, and personal training, small group training, physiotherapy, and massage are among today’s favorites, in addition to gym and group exercise classes. After exercise, everything is topped off with our lovely saunas. Our services are still located in a prime spot on Aleksanterinkatu.<\/p>

In January 2022, Beauty Center was transformed into Liikuntakeskus Olo. We are still a local business, with owners and staff from the north. Liikuntakeskus Olo<\/strong> welcomes women of all ages. Olo is designed for ordinary women who exercise to promote their health. We aim to improve the well-being of women in Oulu so that everyday life becomes easier and, as a result, happier.<\/p>
